PERCH STOOL x NIKARI
by STUDIO KAKSIKKO
The Perch Stool is a perfect constellation of Japanese and Nordic influence — its minimalist, clean design a nod to Studio Kaksikko’s Japanese aesthetics, while its convex form is inspired by the weatherworn doorknobs of Helsinki's old residential buildings.
Designers Wesley Walters and Salla Luhtasela are passionate about functional design that highlights a material’s virtues, which is exemplified in this future design classic. Crafted from traditional Finnish Birch, the entire production will be only a few hundred kilometres from the trees to the final product.
The counter height stool uses the minimal amount of material and structural dimensions necessary for comfortable sitting, making it lightweight. The design won first place in Finnish Design Shop’s Design Competition in 2016, and is manufactured by Nikari using only certified wood.

This Product Plants A Tree
As part of ÅBEN's mission to make a more positive contribution to the environment, we have partnered with One Tree Planted to plant one tree for every product sold. Trees help clean the air we breathe, filter the water we drink, and provide habitat to over 80% of the world's terrestrial biodiversity. Forests provide jobs to over 1.6 billion people, absorb harmful carbon from the atmosphere, and are key ingredients in 25% of all medicines.
We need more trees. Find out more on onetreeplanted.org
