SOLU is a limited edition collection of ceramic dishes inspired by organic shapes and landscapes such as rain drops, lakes and rice fields. Designed in collaboration with Finnish designer Samuli Helavuo, the four piece collection is made in black and white with contrasting glazed interiors and matt exteriors, which invite the user to touch and hold them. The pieces are entirely handmade, making each one intrinsically human and unique.
This Product Plants A Tree
As part of ÅBEN's mission to make a more positive contribution to the environment, we have partnered with One Tree Planted to plant one tree for every product sold. Trees help clean the air we breathe, filter the water we drink, and provide habitat to over 80% of the world's terrestrial biodiversity. Forests provide jobs to over 1.6 billion people, absorb harmful carbon from the atmosphere, and are key ingredients in 25% of all medicines.

Samuli Helavuo
Samuli Helavuo spent 10 years working in marketing and sales before he realised he was on entirely the wrong path. At 31 he quit his job, sold his apartment, shed his possessions and spent the next 7 months travelling the world. The way in which he travelled reflects the way he now designs.
